The ATLAS COPCO 2903-0623-01 is a maintenance part of your lubricated rotary screw compressor. In order to seal the compressor screws with the chamber, lubricate bearings and remove heat of compression oil is injected in the compression chamber with the air, the separator will filter the mix of oil and air to reinject the oil into the air end and send only the air to the downstream aftercooler.
A standard rotary screw air compressor separator assembly function is to filter and retain most of the oil inside the lubrication system, the oil concentration at the outlet of the compressor should be around a maximum of 5 ppm.
Air oil separators have a major impact on the performance of a compressed air system. Higher differential pressure will create higher energy consumption, excessive oil carry-over will result in higher compressor maintenance cost and extra downstream equipment filtration replacement.
